There are currently some rumors circulating that the "Service" module in Business Central is being discontinued.
I checked with our colleagues in Denmark (product team): there’s no talk of that at all! From a development perspective, different areas have been (let’s say) “merged together.”
On the contrary: I am currently working on the latest edition for the service area and have already noticed several improvements in this module. Starting with the fact that there is now also an archiving feature, plus some additional smaller enhancements.
